I grew up in Flanders fields close to the North Sea and graduated from Ghent University, Belgium in 1997 as Civil Engineer and Architect. During my professional career, I focused on wood construction, exploring both artistic (architectural) value and scientific (engineering) capacities of this versatile material created by nature.

 

Life is full of surprises, so since 2003 I live and work in Italy, combining Flemish craftsmanship and rigor with Italian flamboyance and passion. Let's say that I hope history repeats itself, since this combination resulted prosperous in history.

On a late night in spring 2015, inspired by a Belgian Trappist* beer, I founded ilFiammingo, a platform to experiment with digital media and to share my experience with the online community. The main result of this is the Wood No Limits website.
